JUDO LEGENDS featuring O-Sensei HAL SHARP
In 1945 O-Sensei Hal Sharp was deployed by the US Army in the occupation of Japan, that was the beginn-ing of a life time love affair with judo. He won Japan's 1st Foreigner Judo Championships in
1954 and was presented with a beautiful silver sake cup from the Prince of Japan.
Not only was Hal Sharp a Judoka and a competitive Judoka he was an avid writer, photographer, cinematographer and dedicated his life to preserving judo history with his personal 16mm film archives.
He studied and filmed the best martial artists in Post W.W.II, he was also was the personal body guard of the Emperor Of Japan on one occasion and managed to take a photograph of the Emperor smiling, which was unheard of in those days.
Talented and well liked in Japan's Kodokan, Hal Sharp has been friends with and studied directly under Japanese Legends like: Kyuzo Mifune, Takahiko Ishikawa, Gichin Funakoshi, Gogen Yamaguichi, Hidetaka Nishiyama.
In 2012 Hal Sharp received title of O-Sensei and promotional rank of 10 Dan in Judo from AJJIF GLOBAL.

Masahiko Kimura, Shichidan (7th Dan)

Masahiko Kimura was a Japanese judoka and professional wrestler who is widely considered one of the greatest judoka of all time. He won the All-Japan Judo Championships three times in a row for the first time in history and had never lost a judo match from 1936 to 1950. In 1937 Masahiko Kimura won the All Japan Championship at age 20. For the next 13 years he was undefeated before he retired.
5th Dan at age 18 Kimura (5’6″, 170cm; 85kg, 187lbs) was born on September 10, 1917 in Kumamoto, Japan. At age 16, after 6 years of judo, he was promoted to 4th dan. He had defeated 6 opponents (which were all 3rd and 4th dan) in a row. In 1935 at age 18 he became the youngest ever godan (5th degree black belt) when he defeated 8 consecutive opponents at Kodokan.

Takamasa Anai born August 5, 1984 in Ōita, Ōita) is a Japanese judoka. He began judo at the age of 5. He is Coached by former world champion and Olympic silver medalist Shinichi Shinohara. He won the All-Japan Championships and took the bronze medal at the World Championships in 2009. His greatest achievement to date is winning the 2010 World Champions in Tokyo.
In September 2012, he defeated 10 judo black belts in a row during the 50th anniversary of LA Tenri Judo Club, defeating 8-time US judo champion Tokuzo Takahashi in his final match. Anai's main tournament throws are Harai Goshi, Uchi Mata and O soto gari.

Tadayuki Satoh has started learning Judo in his childhood. His father, Gohachiro Satoh was well known Judo Shihan in Hamamatsu city, Shizuoka Prefecture, he held an 8th Dan of Kodokan Judo. Gohachiro played an active role in Judo club in Waseda University, in the era Mr. Jigoro Kano was still alive and in good health, being the head of KODOKAN.
Gohachiro Satoh studied under Kazunuki Miyagawa (8th Dan), Sanpou Toku (9th Dan) and Nagaoka Hideichi (10th Dan).
Having started Judo at the age of 7, Tadayuki went on to Tenri High School and for three years trained enthusiastically in modern-style competitive Judo for inter-high competition and other events as a member of the Judo Club. Katsuhiko Kashiwazaki, Kashiwazaki Katsuhiko, born 16 September 1951) is a Japanese judoka, Judo World Champion, known for his mastery of sacrifice throws (sutemi waza) and ground techniques (ne waza).
Kashiwazaki is from Kuji, Iwate. He began judo at the age of 10. After graduation from Tokai University, he belonged to Ibaraki Prefectural Taga high school(ja) and Tokai University.
Kashiwazaki retired in 1982 and became national coach in England, Canada, Germany and elsewhere. As of 2009, he coaches judo at International Budo University in Japan. He wrote Fighting Judo ISBN 0720715946 with Terence Donovan, published in 1986 by Pelham Books

Judo national coach Jean-Marie Dedecker was national coach of the Belgian Judo Federation from 1981 to 2000. Under his leadership, the Belgian team won more than 130 medals, including four Olympics in Atlanta.
Later he became a Belgian politician. He is also mayor of the coastal municipality of Middelkerke.
