GUNG GEE FOOK FU SET "Taming the Tiger" Full Demonstration and Application
GUNG GEE FOOK FU SET is an indispensable exercise of Hung Gar Style of kung fu from southern China. Its origin can be directly traced to the Siu Lum (Shao Lin) Temple. Successions of men, beginning with the High Priest Gee Sin Sim developed their lives to perpetuate the exercise you are about to see, and the art that went along with it. Famous kung fu master - Lok Ah Choi, Wong Fei Hung, Lum Sai Wing - to name a few, had this exercise at the core of their art. The legacy of enlightenment through the study of philosophy and the martial arts is a treasure of Chinese culture. This treasure was kept alive as the Gung Gee Fook Fu survived through the politics of the Ching Dynasty, the destruction of the Siu Lum Temple, and the intrigue of the Republic.
When done properly and regularly, this exercise, the Gung Gee Fook Fu, can become a moving meditation and a lesson in history of China. Master Buck Sam Kong began his study of gung fu as a child in the village of Wui Tung. He started his training in the traditional Hung Gar method at the age of eight under Grandmaster Lam Jo in Hong Kong. Following in the footsteps of masters before him, Buck Sam Kong has dedicated his life to the cultivation and preservation of Chinese Gung Fu. This devotion has taken him from Hong Kong to establishing schools in the United States, Germany and Mexico. With this video he continues with his vision of spreading martial arts culture between the East and West. Master Kong was one of the first to openly instruct non-Chinese in the art of Kung Fu, and he continued teaching all who are sincere in their desire to learn.
Master Kong passed on January 4th 2024.
